9.5 weeks post surgery update

i recently went under the knife again, this time voluntarily, and then pretty much regretted it. good thing is, while recovering, i started posting more to practice writing.

so the update:

people around me say that i walk normally now, instead of “waddling like a duck/penguin” (yeah my previous walking style has earned a few names for itself). personally, since it is not fully recovered yet, i still can’t say if it was all worth it.

at the 6.5th week mark: i was on a day trip to Luxembourg and braved over 20k steps and 31 floors, the majority of it in the span of 4 hours. my friends were “impressed by my foot”. me too.

i could chase down buses now, instead of letting my reputation of punctuality take a blow. (i was still mostly late though because i underestimated my travelling time with a healing foot, even after planning in buffer)

i played badminton again at exactly the 9th week mark… the surgeon said i could try, even though my physiotherapist said it could take up to a year. well, my foot hurts a little while playing but it is nothing too acute. however, my stamina took a sharp sharp dip, and my lungs suffered the most. my hitting accuracy is also not very existent currently, so i blame my lack of performance on my arm and racquet more.

my right foot is still more swollen, and i still wear a compression sock when doing sports or being out for an extended period — and i put on an extra layer of sock on top of the compression sock because it is otherwise too thin — so it gets so fat that it could just barely fit into my Crocs lmao.

the flexibility of my right toe is the biggest issue now, which prevents me from returning to yoga.

it feels great to sweat again and turn emotional frustration into physical exhaustion.

tell me what you think?
