is my doctor or my body exaggerating?

after complaining for 20000 days that i am sick, and talking about going to my doctor for 10000 days —— i finally visited her. honestly, i had no idea what i was expecting since my symptoms are pretty mild; just chronic and annoying. i think i expected her to inject me with some immunity boosters or something (yeah, that will magically make the sickness go away), or hear her say that it is long COVID and then we try to deduce where i caught it (Paris?). but her diagnosis was pretty interesting: allergies.

i also showed her a photo of the swollen bump on my head that thankfully deflated by today, to which she said those were mosquito bites. ?? because it was a little “warmer” (mind you, i have been freezing all the time) recently that the mosquitoes are making a short late summer comeback… of course i followed up with a “whaaaaattt?? mosquitoes? but the marks are sooo hugeeee”. then she replied with a “yeah, it must be an allergic overreaction”. therefore, ladies and gentlemen, i am now clinically diagnosed to have the ability to overreact. please do not overreact to my overreactions in the future.

next, due to my coughing, i had to undergo a lung function test. principally, it was simple, i had to inhale as much air as i could, then POWERFULLY exhale into a little device and then quickly POWERFULLY inhale again. i had to repeat this 5 times, because my lungs are lacking POWER. what do you mean by lacking POWER??? sure, i have been abstaining from sport for a bit due to my health but the last time i played badminton or cycled (while i was still kinda sick), my lungs felt surprisingly much better than i expected. the doctor replied to this statement with “…ok, you are not supposed to exercise when you are sick.”

also, she prescribed me an inhaler… that contains steroids… uhhhhhhhh what. i have to go back again next month to prove that my lungs are POWERFUL enough. wish me luck.
