was browsing the bookstore with a friend today and while at the arts section, i was asked who my favourite painter is…
i won’t even try to pretend to be cultured in this sense, which is why i was going to say “well, i don’t know much about art” but a vivid image of a painting suddenly came to mind. unfortunately, i did not remember the name of the artist:

i have been to multiple art museums and seen countless paintings… and i think i might be borderline art-blind. so, the amount of times i saw a manual framed image and actively thought “wow i don’t mind seeing that on my phone screen again” that i decided to search about it on the Internet? one.
enter Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
i saw “Autumn” in person — interestingly not in an art museum in Europe but a special art exhibition in Asia (i think it was Japan though it could also be Singapore).
i think i did not remember the name because i had no idea how to pronounce it. luckily for me today, my friend is also Italian and taught me how to say it (and she was impressed that i know this lesser known Italian artist) (so maybe i am quite cultured after all).
