saw the Prime Video advertisement of the live event a few days ago where running legend Faith Kipyegon attempted to be the first ever woman to run 1 mile (1.6km) within 4 minutes!
i was squealing in front of the TV at the end of every lap and unfortunately, the women’s mile is not sub 4 yet but she still broke her own world record! it was very interesting to see over 10 men pacing her.
i wonder if they should let Sifan Hassan try next time… that woman made the podium 3 times in the span of 10 days of something in the three longest running distances after all. maybe people would argue that a mile is “too short” for her but it would be interesting to see…
